Dataset description:
Svk ontologies: BASE for general concepts and EMDO for electricity market data. Data is described uniformly, machine-readable and with clear concepts for easy interpretation and reuse.
Source: Svenska kraftnät’s Semantic Web Framework: BASE and EMDO ontologies
A domain ontology for modelling electricity market data used by Svenska Kraftnät. The ontology defines classes and properties for representing observations, forecasts, market results, flows, prices, and system conditions across the electricity market.
It integrates core concepts from the base ontology with multiple controlled vocabularies (code lists), including bidding zones, production types, reserve products, interconnectors, and market classifications. The ontology establishes consistent modelling patterns for linking data to these vocabularies and for describing time series values, units, and contextual dimensions.
In addition, the ontology uses skos:altLabel to align semantic properties with dataset column names used in Svenska Kraftnät’s data publications. It thereby supports semantic interoperability, standardised data exchange, and consistent interpretation of electricity market data across systems and datasets.
